Welcome to Class 8 (Year 6)
A very warm welcome to our Year 6 families. I am Miss Pattinson, your child’s class teacher. Along with Mrs Redshaw we will prepare your children for moving towards SATs or heading to secondary school. This is obviously both an exciting and challenging time in the children’s lives, but we aim to provide full support and encouragement throughout this time of transition.
If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with school. We believe that the children will have a better chance for success if we work with each other to support them.
Homework will be given out on a Monday and will usually consist of Maths homework-(multiplication tables) and English homework, usually reading and spellings. It is important that children read at home. This could be their library book or Accelerated Reader book or by using the Reading Plus program.
Pupils are asked to have their PE kit in school everyday so we can adapt the timetable depending on the weather.
Our Learning
We will keep the website and our school Twitter account updated with some of the fun things that we have been doing and learning about over the course of the year! Please ask your child’s teacher if you wish to know more.
