Work for Tuesday 5th January

Happy New Year Class 7! I hope you have had a lovely Christmas at home with your families. I am so disappointed that we cannot all be together tomorrow for the beginning of our new term. You have all worked so hard last term and I have been so impressed with all of your efforts. Although we cannot be together in person, as promised I will be uploading work to the website and Teams, for those of you who have access. Our first Teams meeting is scheduled for 9.00am tomorrow, Tuesday 5th January. If you have any issues regarding the work or access to Teams, please do not hesitate to email me at : s.overal200@greenlandcps.co.uk and I will endeavour to help where possible. I look forward to seeing you virtually tomorrow.
Keep safe and take care of yourselves and your families.
Mrs Overal

I have also attached the worksheets, including the daily skills for the maths lesson. For the English work you will just need paper and pens/pencils.
Reading : Please log on to your Reading Plus account and do 30 minutes reading as we would normally do in school. I will monitor but can you let me know if you have been put on hold so I can release you as soon as possible.
Topic : How would you describe your lockdown Christmas? What was your favourite present? How were things different for you this year? Please use your own imagination for this task. You can present this using whatever medium you choose: art, collage, PowerPoint, diary entry. I would love you to upload these onto Teams or email them to me.
I will be setting you a project for the next two weeks, which I will upload tomorrow onto Teams and the website.
Remember if you need any help please do not hesitate to email me. I will be available during school hours Monday to Friday and will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.

Welcome to Class 7 (Years 5 & 6)

A very warm welcome to class 7! My name is Mrs Overal and I will be your child’s teacher this year. Together, we will be working hard to prepare them for the many challenges and opportunities that they will encounter throughout this year and beyond. We aim to make this year an enjoyable experience for all of the children in Class 7 and have many exciting events and activities planned for the year ahead. As you will appreciate, children are able to progress further with continued support from those around them at home and this we encourage greatly at Greenland Primary School.

If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at school. I look forward to working with you and thank you for your support.

Class Information

Homework
Year 5/6 will receive English homework (Spellings and reading) and maths homework (times tables) each week. This will be given to your child on a Monday and will be expected to be returned by Friday. It is also expected that children will read at home. This could either be in the form of the library book, an Accelerated Reading book or by using the Reading Plus program that children have access to.

Our Learning

We will keep the website and our school Twitter account updated with some of the fun things that we have been doing and learning about over the course of the year! Please ask your child’s teacher if you wish to know more.
