Hello Class 13
I hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family and created lots of lasting memories.   We’ve missed you lots and can’t wait to see you back in school soon.
Here are links to work I would like you to complete today – Tuesday 5th January 21.
If you have any questions please let me know by e-mailing me.
Maths
Let’s recap on how to add ones to any number using number bonds.
There is a teaching video to work through before having a go at the worksheet linked below.  Please pause the video whenever you need to and talk through any questions with an adult.  Use a pen and paper to help and to record your answers/calculations.

Now let’s practice spelling words with the sound ‘ay’ – watch and join in with Rosie in the video below

Remember to pause the video when you need to and don’t be afraid to ask a grown up for help.
English – Writing
Can you write a description of waking up on Christmas morning?  What did you hear?  What could you smell?  What did you see?  How did you feel?  Try to remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.  Use describing words/adjectives to describe nouns/objects/things and make your sentences as exciting as you can.   You can use one of the writing frames below to help you decide what to write about.  Can you explain what is in the picture and what might be happening?  If you don’t have a printer don’t worry – some plain paper and a pencil or pen will do.  Remember to try and write neatly in your best handwriting.

Foundation
If you have time left why don’t you go outside for walk in the fresh air.  Remember to get wrapped up warm.   The link below has some great ideas for making your walks more fun.  Perhaps you could begin a nature journal or see how many senses you can use when you walk.
Remember to have a mug of hot chocolate when you get home!

Winter Nature Walk Ideas for Kids • RUN WILD MY CHILD
How to warm kids up on a winter nature walk. Kids can get chilly on winter walks, which makes them unmotivated. In order to keep them moving, one of my favorite things to bring with us on a winter hike is a flask of hot chocolate.

From Mrs Guy and Mr Watson

Welcome to Class 13.

I am Mrs Guy who will be your child’s class teacher this year.  Together with Mr Watson we aim to make this year a great one for your child.

If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at school. I look forward to working with you and thank you for your support.

Homework
It is very important that children take their reading book home and practise reading every night. Also, they should complete accelerated reading tests at home. Children are expected to go on times table rock stars as often as possible, focusing on the 3, 4 and 8 times tables. Children will be given a spelling list on Monday which they should practice in preparation for a spelling test on Friday morning.

Our Learning

We will keep the website and our school Twitter account updated with some of the fun things that we have been doing and learning about over the course of the year! Please ask your child’s teacher if you wish to know more.
